Under the current system implemented by Ballarat Evolve, the successful artists or creative industry representative is offered a rolling 30-day licence agreement, giving them access to an agreed space under strict and agreed terms.
The requirements made of the creative tenant include:
Having the appropriate insurances (public liability, tenants, products liability)
Paying the utility costs (water, gas, electricity)
A nominal bond at the landlord’s request
The landlord and the participants sign this licence agreement rather than a lease. The tenants purchase the necessary insurance, and the participants agree to pay for utilities and some other costs, as well as paying a nominal bond to the landlord where required.
